I was hoping to find somone who could tell me where I could find someone to guide me on a coyote hunt. This would be calling them in, not running them with dogs. I would be more than happy to pay for their services. I have done research on hunts in South Dakota, but would like to keep it here in Wisconsin if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Re: coyote guide
A guy who guided my son for bear did coyotes up by Weyerhauser. I would have to look up his info, but he was a GREAT guy. I am not sure if he does calling, though - he was a dog FREAK and only did us as stand hunters as a sidelight (which was fine for me). I might be interested in going with you on that trip - he treated us fair, and had some beautiful land to cover.
Let me know if you are still interested.

Re: coyote guide
I am vary interested. The people in my home area that I talked to in the past that hunt coyotes, said that it doesn't pay to try to call them in, they just don't come in. So they run them with dogs. Like I said, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: coyote guide
I have called and killed alot of Coyotes in the State of Wisconsin. I also have had alot of hunts ruined by the DOG GUYS. I have also been declined access to some really good Coyote Hunting areas because of the Dog hunters.
Re: coyote guide
I am trying to get ahold of the guy to see if there is any point in it. I agree that the dog guys can be a royal pain. These guys seemed pretty reasonable, but it was also obvious that they had some enemies as well. They live on the edge of dog bear country, with some land both north and south of the line, so they don't hit the south too hard (if at all) with the dogs, but I don't think it would matter too much if the dogs are not running while you are hunting, as long as it is not a daily thing, like it is during bear season.
They did not seem to care much about coyote at the time - their passion was bear and coon.
I have had the group hunters down here in so. central Wis screw me up on many an occasion. They don't run dogs, but they are just as bad - sending the kids through the rough crap and the fathers sitting on the roads in their warm trucks waiting for something to get kicked out. I have even had on several occasions trucks show up after I start calling and sit at the road in their warm trucks waiting for something to come check out the calling that I can't see, but they can. I have learned to stop calling immediately, scan one more time, then directly approach their truck. They have never had the guts to hang around and talk to me, but I suspect that I disappointed them none-the-less. As long as my time is wasted, I am going to do what I can to disappoint them! Tire spikes or a .45 to the center of the radiator would be a good thing, but I suppose it would not shine a bright light on us responsible hunters... I hate slobs, but unfortunately, you meet them everywhere.
